How does CEIR work?
Information on all handsets is available on this new portal of the Department of Telecommunications. In this, the handset is white, gray and blacklisted. In this list, you can use mobile IMEI mobile. At the same time, the devices with the gray list are not as per standard but they can be used. Devices with a gray list will be monitored. At the same time, users will not be able to use blacklisted IMEI. Devices with blacklist IMEI will not have access to connect mobile networks.
After the mobile phone is lost or stolen, users have to register an FIR. For this, DoT has issued a helpline number 14422. The department will blacklist the device after the police complaint.
